Another element of "Waqt" is that it was one of the first Bollywood films to be called a "multi-starrer". It was a devise that became very popular in Hindi films.

In "Waqt" frolicking at a 5 star hotel, Sadhana and Sunil Dutt two of the biggest stars in Bollywood had a 'sensuous' scene wearing bathing suits which was considered the height of risqué (and modern Western) behavior.

The scene was risky and controversial but came off as very romantic and the (family) audience ate it up.
